DirectRooms.com – Adelaide welcomes teams in world sevens rugby during 2 to 3 April 2011
DirectRooms.com reports that the IRB Sevens World Series will be coming to Adelaide in April and the tournament promises plenty of flowing rugby to entertain fans as some of the fittest players in the game take to the field.
[UKPRwire, Mon Mar 07 2011] The International Rugby Sevens Adelaide 2011 is the sixth tournament of the series which kicked off in December in Dubai and will visit a total of eight countries along the way before finishing in Edinburgh in May.
Fans can see 16 teams representing some of the greatest countries in world rugby such as England, New Zealand, South Africa, Samoa, Fiji and of course the home side Australia. Points are earned depending on the team’s final position in each tournament and these then go towards the overall points tally for the entire series.
Visitors staying in the city using a hotel in Adelaide who are keen to watch the games on 2nd and 3rd April 2011 can catch them at the Adelaide Oval. Last season’s winners were Samoa but the individual tournaments are less predictable with several teams capable of taking home the glory. As for Aussie fans they’ll be hoping they can be the eighth man on the pitch to give the team a boost when the competition reaches Adelaide.
Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: “As an international event that is followed by thousands of fans the city is going to be packed with extra visitors over the weekend. This will heavily influence hotels and so booking well in advance is the advice for people coming in for the event.”
