AmTrust Equine Insurance Royal Windsor Horse Show Unaffiliated Championship Winners
AmTrust Equine Insurance is a leading equine insurance company committed to supporting grass roots riders in the UK and has been overwhelmed by the response of British Riding Clubs to this inaugural event at the prestigious Royal Windsor Horse Show.
[UKPRwire, Fri May 29 2009] With entrants from 17 of the UK’s 23 British Riding Clubs taking part, the inaugural AmTrust Equine RWHS Unaffiliated Championships gave British grass-roots riders the chance of a lifetime to compete at the 2009 Royal Windsor Horse Show earlier this month.
AmTrust Equine (www.amtrustequine.co.uk) teamed up with the British Horse Society and British Riding Clubs to offer riders a truly unique opportunity and the winners will be returning to Windsor in August 2009 to receive their trophies in front of the capacity crowd expected for the FEI European Jumping & Dressage Championships 2009.
The AmTrust Equine Junior Dressage Championship was won by Victoria Leabeater from Hampshire on Catalan Brooklyn Bomber, with 11 year old Phoebe Carter on Lucky Jim in second place (the pair also came fourth in the AmTrust Equine Junior Intermediate Jumping Championships) and third place going to Rebecca Champion on Mockbeggar Snippett II - both riders from Surrey.
The AmTrust Equine Senior Dressage Championship was won by Mrs Alys Jones from Somerset on Able Access Ski. Michelle McDonald on Stane Street Lady from Chichester came second and third place was taken by Dr Cindy Wells from Cambridge on Cornelius Fudge.
The AmTrust Equine Senior Novice Jumping Championship was won by Miss Rosie Stevens from Suffolk on Gracie. She said: “It was a superb event and to make things even better I was the winner of the Senior Novice Unaffiliated Topscore Round 3 and then winner of the Championship! I am absolutely over the moon and haven't stopped smiling since, it was a fantastic opportunity just to attend the show never mind win at it. The rug presented to me and my amazing horse Gracie was fabulous. Thank you once again to everyone at AmTrust Equine.”
The AmTrust Equine Senior Intermediate Jumping Championship winner was Rachel Horton Bacon on Salandra, while 16 year old Sally Lyons on Snapdragon (also known as Billy) stopped revising for her 10 GCSEs long enough to win the AmTrust Equine Junior Novice Jumping. Hollie Leathem from Blackheath in London on Million Dollar Pony won the AmTrust Equine Junior Intermediate Jumping Championships.
Perdie Reid, Claims Manager from AmTrust Equine said: “We were overwhelmed by the number of entrants who took the time and effort to participate in the AmTrust Equine RWHS Unaffiliated Championships. It was a delight to see so many amateur riders from around the country have the time of their lives at such a prestigious show. We will continue our support of grass-roots riders at events both large and small and look forward to seeing our winners again in August.”
AmTrust Equine will be supporting the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials for the second year in September and will be cheering on the grass roots riders at events all around the country throughout 2009.
