National Homebuyers: 'Earthquake causes chaos '
Many UK homeowners face financial difficulties after a significant earthquake struck the country in the early hours of this morning (February 27th).
[UKPRwire, Tue Mar 04 2008] The quake was recorded at 5.2 on the Richter Scale and caused a large amount of damage right across England and Wales.
A number of properties suffered damage to chimneys, roofs and ceilings, with many people having to pay for repairs, potentially leading to financial difficulties.
The epicentre of the earthquake was in Lincolnshire but people were also affected in London, Newcastle and even parts of Wales.
"This is a significant earthquake for the UK and will have been widely felt across England and Wales," Seismologist Dr Brian Baptie of the British Geological Survey told the Associated Press.
This latest costly natural event follows the floods which affected large parts of the UK in the summer.
Fast property sale expert Julian King adds, "Flood, earthquakes and access to such information through the introduction of Home Information Packs is making selling a property quickly on the open market extremely difficult.
"Homeowners are having to find alternatives to the open market sales route".
