UK over-50s TV series - 2nd programme premieres!
Tonight (Weds 24th June) sees premiere of 2nd edition of new over 55's series, Goodbye, 9 to 5!
[UKPRwire, Wed Jun 24 2009] Goodbye 9 to 5!, a specialist programme looking at all aspects of retirement and over 55s life, is premiering it's second programme tonight (Wedneday 24th June) at 6pm on Information TV, Sky channel 166 and Freesat 402.
The new series of programmes soft-launched successfully with its first edition which first broadcast two weeks ago and show 6 times, said producer Chris Gosling of TV production company Serious Leisure TV.
"Over this initial period, we aim to make a lot of new contacts and start building a small audience," Gosling said. "We now know many more worthwhile people and have many more useful contacts than we had when we started filming for the series, so we're now becoming wired-into some of the UK's most important organisations in the field."
"We're now also talking to potential programme sponsors and advertisers who are working to understand and benefit from the vast potential of addressing the over-55's market," he added. "People on pension now outnumber the under 16s in the UK, and and that tells smart marketers that this group, currently growing and prosperous despite the recession, are important - businesses with serious aims for the future are looking for ways of reaching the audience."
The second programme in the series looks at retirement property purchase with a building surveyor, and has items on second home purchase, World War 2 commemoration, and a feature about the RNLI. "We're now filming more material with major organisations like the Red Cross and the NHS for upcoming shows, and are also preparing more hard-hitting material about pensions and other financial topics," said Chris Gosling.
"We also want to make the voices of ordinary people over 55 heard - so we'll be starting a series of vox-pops on areas of public concern soon."
