[UKPRwire, Thu Jun 04 2009] The Charlotte Street Festival, one of London’s liveliest local business showcases, has chosen Charlotte Street based social networking solution provider, Webjam, to create their very own online networking community.

The fully customisable site, for the first time, allows businesses, visitors and other festival participants to interact, post comments, message festival goers and get up to date news on the big event. A live activity feed allows everyone to get involved in the current festival buzz and discuss the upcoming event.

Webjam has also developed an interactive map which gives all users the chance to see exactly where the participating restaurants are and access links to pages within the site, where hungry visitors can find out about the tasty treats on offer. Businesses can personalise these individual pages and the platform gives them the opportunity to communicate directly with potential customers.

Jim Murray, Charlotte Street Festival Coordinator, said, “We want this year’s festival to be the most successful. Fitzrovia is the new media hub of London and so it makes sense to get a local expert, such as Webjam, to create our very own online social network, making this the most interactive local showcase in London.”

Webjam Business Development Director, Lexie Mendelson, commented, “We are excited to be involved with a local initiative that encourages people to visit and experience our local area and promote local businesses. The Charlotte Street Festival site & social network is an example of how diversely the Webjam platform can be used.”

The street festival will be opened on Saturday 6th June at 12pm by the Mayor of Camden and will showcase over 70 businesses from the Fitzrovia area. Festival goers can join the online party at http://www.charlottestreetfestival.org
