PE TEACHING GETS BOOST AS FITFRAME’S UK LAUNCH HELPS WHOLE CLASS EXERCISE TOGETHER

[UKPRwire, Sun Apr 22 2007] Fitness and exercise in UK schools is set for a transformation after a revolutionary new training device that has already been proven throughout schools in the Republic of Ireland is being launched here for the first time.
The innovative Fitframe, developed by sports equipment specialist Teamhop, is a scientifically-designed exercise device that allows a range of exercises to be performed by multiple users simultaneously. The Club version is already in regular use in professional sport clubs such as Guinness Premiership club, Saracens and New Zealand’s Canterbury Crusaders.
Initially created for use in training field sport teams, the Fitframe is ideal for schools, especially where space may be confined for PE classes and team training, as the Fitframe enables a whole class of over 20 students to exercise at the same time in a space no larger then 10 square feet. It helps reduce body fat, increase strength and muscular endurance without placing unnecessary stress on students’ bodies and, moreover, it allows the teacher to easily monitor all students and to correct technique.
Designed for use from year 9 up, the Fitframe allows for hundreds of body weight options to be performed simultaneously, including chin-ups, sit-ups, stretching, crunches, pull-ups, core stability, raised push-ups and many more sport specific exercises. It helps develop group cohesion and boost morale and also contributes to a reduction in the chances of sustaining injury whilst playing other sports.
“The Fitframe is an ideal piece of equipment for schools,” explains Teamhop’s Daniel Begley. “It enables pupils to be easily monitored by their PE teacher, while ensuring that a full body work out is achieved, exercising all muscle groups concurrently in a controlled and supervised way.”
Philip Conway, Former Olympian & Head of PE at Belvedere College comments; “The Fitframe has a big role to play in the development of boys and girls in this day and age. Boys and girls don’t exercise naturally as they used to. The Fitframe offers upper body strength in a pulling and pushing fashion as well as many other own body weight exercises to provide an all round fitness component. It’s a great new development for schools, playgrounds and teams and is excellent value. The Fitframe can be used in all settings, before school, during school in a structured way in a PE class setting and after school for the training of teams and has dawn to dusk value every day.”
Made of high quality stainless steel, the Fitframe has undergone over six months of rigorous independent testing, including in excess of one million exercise repetitions, and in some cases over 10 million, per test and has proven to those schools that use it, to be a safe, durable and long lasting piece of equipment for use indoors or outdoors.

Based in Dublin Ireland, Teamhop is an international sports equipment company. The company was set up in 2005 by Frank Keane and Daniel Begley, who recognised that there was a lack of provision within team training and group exercising and as a result developed the Fitframe for use in schools and clubs, for training primarily in field sports such as rugby, soccer and gaelic football.
The Fitframe is a scientifically designed exercise frame that allows a range of exercises to be performed by multiple users simultaneously. It is available in both a schools and club version.
