New level of eLearning Network membership

The eLearning Network (eLN) - a non-profit organisation run by the e-learning community for the e-learning community – has revised its membership criteria. There are now four levels of full membership available, in addition to the associate membership grade.

[UKPRwire, Mon Feb 02 2009] Last year, the eLN introduced a free associate membership scheme. Any learning and development specialist, designer, developer, supplier, consultant, tutor, student or academic is encouraged to register for eLN associate membership.

“We offer free membership because the eLN is essentially a community of practice, in which members get to share experiences and support each other in their efforts to make successful use of e-learning within their organisations,” explained the eLN’s chairman, Clive Shepherd. “We believe this network will benefit by enfranchising all members of the e-learning community, at whatever level and whatever the field of interest.”

Associate members benefit from:
• Social networking through the eLN website
• Regular e-learning news
• Free participation in the eLN’s webinar programme
• Online resources including links, a book list, an extensive glossary, guides to best practice, products, services and courses
• The chance to participate in polls and surveys about all aspects of e-learning

Full membership of the eLN – available now on four levels - includes all the advantages of associate membership, plus an enhanced package of exclusive benefits, including:
• A membership badge and certificate
• A subscription to E-Learning Age magazine (worth £75)
• Free premium webinars with internationally-renowned experts
• Voting rights
• The chance to judge the annual E-Learning Awards
• The chance to serve on the eLN committee

The additional benefits of eLN membership are:
Level 1 @ £75;
• Discounts on all eLN events (worth £50 each event)
Level 2 @ £160;
• Free attendance for the member at one eLN event (worth £100)
• Discounts for the member at further eLN events (worth £50 per event)
• Free attendance at the Members’ Showcase event in July (worth £75)
• The ability to advertise products and services on the Marketplace area of the website
Level 3 @ £325;
• Three credits for free attendance at eLN events for employees at the member's organisation (worth £100 each)
• Discounts for attendance at other eLN events for three employees from the member's organisation per event (worth £50 per person per event)
• Free attendance for up to three people from the member's organisation at the members’ showcase
• The ability to advertise products and services on the Marketplace area of the website

Level 4 @ £475;

• Free attendance for up to five people from the member's organisation at the members’ showcase

Within the last year, membership of the eLN has expanded from some 150 to over 1,500. Although most eLN members continue to be based in the UK, a growing number of the association’s members are based outside the UK.
