Maplesoft makes online assessment technology easier and more cost-effective
The latest version of Maple T.A. from MaplesoftTM (Waterloo, Canada) has been added to Adept Scientific’s (Letchworth, Herts) product range.
[UKPRwire, Mon Jul 20 2009] Maplesoft™, a leader in software products for technical education and research, has announced the release of the next version of its popular testing and assessment tool. With a spectrum of new features Maple T.A. 5.0, released globally, is expected to significantly enhance flexibility and performance of content management, as well as simplify system administration. Maple T.A. is an easy-to-use web-based system for creating tests and assignments, automatically assessing student responses and performance.
The new product includes a completely new question management model which provides increased flexibility when organising questions. This new model also provides greatly improved performance when loading and saving questions and an extremely simple process for sharing content with colleagues. This enables instructors to assemble assignments more quickly and reuse questions more effectively.
With Maple T.A. 5.0 connectivity to Blackboard software has been expanded to include support for Blackboard Vista/CE (formerly WebCT). Using the Blackboard Connector, Maple T.A. can be integrated into the institution’s course management system.
“Maple T.A. continues to live up to its tradition of making powerful online assessment technology easy and cost-effective,” said Laurent Bernardin, Executive Vice President, Maplesoft. “The latest version continues to deliver on the promise of supporting meaningful testing anytime, anywhere. Maplesoft’s leadership role in this market for 20 years means we can provide educational institutions the best online solution available for maths, science and engineering.”
Other new features in Maple T.A. include a new system administration interface that makes it easier to set up and monitor the system, access to the full computational power of Maple™ 13, the latest version of Maple, a new user guide for course instructors and an enhanced assignment editor.
